Ashford Borough Council – Statement of Community Involvement (SCI)

Community involvement is an important part of preparing Local Plans. The Statement of Community Involvement (SCI) sets out how the council intends to achieve continuous community involvement in the preparation of local plan documents in their area as well as involve the public on consultation on planning applications.

The aim of the SCI is to ensure that all sections of the public and community, including local groups and organisations, are actively represented and involved throughout the process of preparing any Local Plan Document including Supplementary Documents.

The council’s original SCI was formally adopted on the 24 August 2006 and is replaced by the First Review of the SCI which was formally adopted by Full Council on Thursday 19th November 2009
